Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Permit Requirements

- Application & Fees: As of November 2025, new CCW applications cost $112 and renewals $67. Modifications—such as adding a firearm or changing your address is $0.
- Training Hours: For a new standard permit you must complete 16 hours of training. For renewals, the requirement is 8 hours.
- Firearm Listing: You may list up to 3 handguns on your permit. Each listed firearm must be registered to you, and you must qualify with each.

Submit your application and pay the initial fee
Pass background check and interview (including LiveScan fingerprinting)
- Complete your in-person CCW training and live-fire qualification.
Once approved, pay the final fee and receive your permit.
