Fresno County Sheriff & Fresno PD CCW Applications
Your issuing agency handles your CCW application and permit decision. Fresno County Sheriff and Fresno Police Department have separate application processes. Use the instructions for the agency handling your application.
Fresno County Sheriff applicants: Review the official county CCW requirements and instructor list.
Fresno PD applicants: Review the official Fresno PD CCW page for its application, approved instructors and Live Scan instructions. Fresno PD states that renewal applicants need a new Live Scan submission beginning September 1, 2026.
Completing training does not itself issue or renew your permit. Complete the online lessons and in-person live-fire qualification to receive your training certificate.
